Goals of the NJROTC Program

Promote Patriotism - to instill or enhance a love of their country, respect for the flag and pride in the government and our way of life. Develop Informed and Responsible Citizens - give students an awareness of their responsibilities, duties, and rights as citizens. Promote Habits of Orderliness and Precision - understanding that the development of good habits and order in one's life has assisted others to achieve high levels of success. Develop a High Degree of Personal Honor, Self-Reliance, Self-Discipline, and Leadership - these personal qualities are found in most of our successful leaders. Promote an Understanding of the Basic Elements and Requirements for National Security - explain the need for armed forces and the relationship between armed forces and a democratic government. Develop Respect for and an Understanding of the Need for constituted Authority in a Democratic Society - why do we have laws and government? What are the other choices? Provide Incentives to Live Healthy and Drug Free Lives - what are some of the consequences of the choices we make? Develop Leadership Potential - N.J.R.O.T.C. gives many opportunitites for leadership at all levels. Promotes High School Completion - the importance of a good education is a stepping-stone to future success. Provide Information on the Military Services as a Possible Career
