The Orienteering Team is a big part of NJROTC. The Orienteering team members learn how to navigate in
an unfamiliar terrain. The Orienteering team participates in many of the orienteering meets that ultimately test the
endurance, speed, and navigation skills of each orienteerer. At the competition the team members are only allowed to use a
map and a compass to find orange markers placed in the competition area. On each marker is a hole puncher with a specific
pattern, when the team finds that marker they have to hole punch their score card. The orienteering team's goal is to compete
at their full potential.
